BookHampton is hiring for ASSISTANT MANAGER

BookHampton aims for greater levels in service, sales, events, and community engagement. The Assistant Manager, working closely with the Store Manager, Owner, and Management Team, will contribute to all aspects of daily operations, including opening and closing the store. This hardworking individual will assist with customer service, merchandising and store displays, marketing and social media, event planning and set-up, staff supervision, community engagement, bookselling, and additional revenue generation.

Skills and Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree with 2-3 years of management or other relevant experience

Broad knowledge of literature, arts, and culture

Ability to work collaboratively

A self-starter with attention to detail

Strong communication and organizational skills

Competent with social media, photography, and marketing

Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends

BookHampton is hiring for BOOKSELLERS (part-time and full-time):

Applicants will share enthusiasm for bookselling! You must read broadly and LOVE books! You will provide customer service by recommending, discussing, and selling books and gift merchandise. Additional tasks include answering phones; assisting customers via phone or in person, assist vendors, take detailed messages as needed; and help maintain the general appearance and organization of the store.

Skills and Requirements:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Retail experience a must, bookselling experience a plus!

Broad knowledge of literature, arts, and culture

Strong computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office and Point of Sale/cash register systems.

Digitally savvy a plus (social media and web).

Must have the ability to lift, reach (shelve books), and comfortably stand for long time periods.
