John was first hired by the Macmillan/Scribner publishing group in 1985 and then was retained after that company was purchased by Simon & Schuster in late 1993. John has won Simon & Schuster Sales Awards, has been on the NEIBA Board of Directors as well as an Advisory Council member, has won Sales Rep of the Year Award from NEIBA, and has held multiple positions in the regional rep association, BPRNE (Book Publisher’s Reps of New England). For more than two years John was a Regional Sales Director for Simon & Schuster, before moving back into the position he presently holds.

John is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts and has a Master’s Degree from that school. He and his wife Karen have been married for almost 40 years and they have three adult sons. For decades, he was a long-distance runner, but now his recreational exercise is in biking and walking. John mainly reads literary fiction and the occasional non-fiction book (of any sort), and particularly likes to travel with his wife Karen.
