AGAINST THE DAY
by Thomas Pynchon
Pynchon, the author of the iconographic "Gravity's Rainbow" and "Mason Dixon" has, once again, given us a spinning, brawling, wheezing, schizophrenic masterwork. To attempt a summary would be madness. It is equal parts destruction and rebirth, slapstick and dirge, hallucination and obituary. It will take a minimum of two weeks to read, and those weeks will be touched with grace and majesty.
